Probat, a German-based specialist in designing and constructing roasting machines, has released the next generation of its smallest shop roaster the Probatino. With a batch size of around 1 kilogram, the Probatino is used in both laboratories of large coffee producers and in small-scale specialty coffee roast houses. The newly launched shop roaster comes with modifications on the previous model to improve ease of use and Probat have further simplified installation and maintenance. The company has added a sight glass to the discharging door to enable a visual monitoring of the roasting process. As with other shop roasters in the Probatone-series, the control panel has been installed on the left side of the machine, for ease of use. All operator controls, as well as digital displays for roasting time and temperature, are easily accessible. Improvements in the cooling sieve design enable quicker and more comfortable discharging and cleaning. The designers have also modified the pipe work and enlarged the inspection doors to simplify maintenance and installation. The new Probatino is available in black/silver and black/brass.
