The Probat Group of companies has officially inaugurated John Fortin as the new President, following a six-month introduction to the role. The roasting equipment and technology manufacturer’s Board of Directors appointed Fortin to succeed Karl Schmidt, who has previously served as President.  Schmidt has been working with Fortin since July, to conduct a successful and thorough transition of responsibilities. “We thank Karl Schmidt for his leadership and commitment to Probat, his dedicated service to the coffee industry, and we wish him the best for his future,” said Wim Abbing, Chairman of the Board of Directors and CEO Probat Group. Fortin brings to the role more than 30 years of experience from the industrial manufacturing sector, having previously served as Vice-President and General Manager of a tube mill fabrication business.
