Re:Co Atlanta speakers announced

The full line-up of speakers has been announced for Re:Co Atlanta, which is set to be held at the Omni Hotel from 13-14 April. Speakers at the event will include Director of the Borderlands Coffee Project, Michael Sheridan. Sheridan coordinates coffee programming globally for Catholic Relief Services as director of its Coffeelands Program, and chairs the Farmworker Committee on the SCAA’s Sustainability Council. He has lived and worked in the coffeelands on and off for more than 20 years, led coffee programming at CRS since 2004 and published perspectives from the intersection of specialty coffee and international development on the CRS Coffeelands blog since 2009 Joining Sheridan as a speaker at the event will be Specialty Coffee Association of America (SCAA)’s Research Analyst Heather Ward. Ward is the SCAA’s research analyst and is responsible for providing leadership and vision in gathering, analyzing, and reporting coffee-related industry research. Before moving into the coffee industry, she completed her MBA at Point Loma Nazarene University in San Diego with studies focusing on the economics of coffee. She is passionate about coffee, market analysis, and helping the coffee community better understand the landscape of the industry. Also on the bill is Jérôme Perez, Head of Sustainability at Nestlé Nespresso. Perez is responsible for defining and overseeing the implementation of the company’s sustainability strategy, The Positive Cup. Mr. Perez and his team ensure that the company operates in a way that seeks to improve its environmental performance and to positively impact stakeholders throughout the value chain. He started his career at Perrier and held a variety of roles within Nestlé Waters. A French native, he holds a degree in Business & Management. The Re:Co Symposium will be held immediately prior to the SCAA Coffee Expo, which is taking place from April 14-17 at the Georgia World Congress Centre.
