SCA announces Green Coffee Summit 2022

Green Coffee Summit schedule

Following the success of the first Green Coffee Summit event in 2021, the Specialty Coffee Association (SCA) has announced the second event, continuing the programming and content focused on the buying and selling of green coffee.

This free-to-attend event will be delivered virtually with two days of presentations, lectures, and panel discussions on 18 and 20 October 2022. The event will feature live content focused on two broader geographical markets, North America, and Europe, organised by topic and audience.

Showcasing panel discussions, lectures, and informational videos, the live summit will offer buyer-focused content including topics such as digitalisation, equitable value distribution, coffee buying ethics and etiquette. The seller-focused content includes market overview videos for the day’s geographic region, with a particular focus on understanding attributes each market values, followed by a live discussion on market insights and characteristics.

This is coupled with key SCA messaging around understanding specialty coffee’s attributes, the forth coming changes to the cupping protocol, and offering insights into attributes poised for growth.

Aligning with the live event, the Green Coffee Summit website serves as a resource platform for anyone working with green coffee, offering a curated list of relevant content, with ongoing updates to reflect the latest changes on a region-by-region basis. All content from the live event will be recorded and added to the Green Coffee Summit library alongside sessions from Green Coffee Summit held in 2021.

The SCA says the live summit and resource library would not be possible without the support of Barista Attitude, Title Sponsor of Green Coffee Summit 2022.

“With coffee markets changing, green coffee buyers and sellers need the latest independent, and neutral information about these markets. We’re proud to support the continued development of this event and platform that provides accessible points of reference and tools to better equip green coffee buyers and sellers,” says Cosimo Libardo, Specialty Coordinator at Barista Attitude.

The SCA also thanks BWT water+more for their role as Supporting Sponsor for Green Coffee Summit 2022.
