The Speciality Coffee Association of Europe (SCAE) has announced that BWT water+more has been appointed as headline sponsor of the Nordic World of Coffee (WOC), taking place in Sweden on 16 – 18 June. “BWT is an innovative company that is passionate about water and coffee quality and this matches our vision to inspire coffee excellence around the world,” said David Veal, SCAE’s Executive Director, in a statement. “By working together at WOC, we hope to raise the standard of coffee and water in our industry.” Andreas Weissenbacker, Chief Executive of BWT, said the water optimisation company was proud to join SCAE as an event sponsor of WOC. “Our focus in R&D is always on both top coffee quality and machine protection. Sponsoring WOC is another example of the support that BWT water+more offers to the coffee community. We are looking forward to working with SCAE and hosting a number of activities at the event,” said Weissenbacker, in the statement. WOC’s annual event is designed to showcase new trends, developments and innovations in coffee. Along with an exhibition featuring more than 200 coffee producers and suppliers, WOC will host a packed schedule of events, including five world championships. SCAE will host the World Cup Tasters Championship, World Coffee Roasting Championship, World Latte Art Championship, World Coffee in Good Spirits Championship and World Brewers Cup. This year SCAE is introducing the first Re:co speciality coffee symposium and bringing back the SCAE education program, the SCAE Excellence Awards, New Products of the Show Awards and its annual Photography Competition.
