Coinciding with the Speciality Coffee Expo is the launch of the SCA’s Coffee Sensory and Cupping Handbook, which contains more than 30 years of scientific advancements in the field of sensory science.

SCA will be hosting two author sessions, one online and one onsite at the Expo on International Coffee Day on 1 October. The online session will run from 11am to 11:30am CDT time and will be hosted by Mario Roberto Fernández-Alduenda.

The on-site session will be held from 11:30am to 12:30pm by Peter Giuliano at the SCA store at the Specialty Coffee Expo.

Election season is also now on with the Barista, Coffee Roasters, and Coffee Technicians Guilds all looking for new members to join their leadership councils.

Nominations will remain open until 4 October, with nominees announced 1 November. Voting will take place from 22 November to 6 December with new leadership members announced 10 December.
