Starbucks and Nestlé have announced their plans to create three new flavours of coffee creamer which will be available undefined
in the refrigerated aisle of American supermarkets in August 2019.
It will be the first time Starbucks has entered into the creamer category. Since forming an alliance with Nestlé in August 2018, the two companies have seen a growth opportunity in this category.
Nestlé has more than 50 years’ experience in the development of coffee creamers, while Starbucks has built an almost 50-year legacy of revered coffee house flavours. This combination will see the two companies manufacture a product that is projected to top $7.8 billion by 2023 in the United States.
President of Beverage at Nestlé USA, Daniel Jhung, says that since Nestlé launched its line of coffee creamers in 1961, it has been the one of the leaders of that industry and continues to “innovate and help drive category growth”.
“In our work with Starbucks through our global coffee alliance, we saw the opportunity to introduce Starbucks Creamers as a new way for consumers to enjoy the Starbucks café flavours they know and love from the comforts of their home.”
Caramel, White Chocolate and Cinnamon Dolce will be the three flavours available.
