Starbucks has announced Sara Trilling has been appointed as the Executive Vice President and President of Starbucks North America.

Starbucks says Trilling is now responsible for driving operational excellence. This includes supporting more than 240,000 Starbucks partners or employees who provide the Starbucks Experience in more than 18,000 stores.

During her two decades of service with Starbucks, the company says Trilling’s leadership and commitment to human connection in stores has led to positive growth in the numerous roles she’s held across the company.

Most recently, Trilling served as Senior Vice President and President of Starbucks Asia Pacific, driving Starbucks business and social impact priorities in collaboration with regional leaders.

This resulted in growing retail store count and digital offerings to meet unprecedented customer demand across the 14 markets in the region, while creating a positive impact for the communities served.

Trilling’s career began in the design world where she managed a variety of accounts and projects for a woman-owned business and gained experience in human resources.

Early on in her career, Trilling learned the key to being a good leader was asking good questions and uncovering the answers. This approach led her to where she is today, leading teams to innovate and elevate their best work to the company.

Trilling holds a bachelor’s degree in religious studies, with a minor in ethnic studies, from the University of Oregon.

Her favourite Starbucks beverage is a short, dark roast brewed coffee.
