Nespresso has appointed Stefan Vermeulen as the new Managing Director of Nespresso Oceania.
Effective from 1 July, Stefan, who is currently the Managing Director for Nespresso New Zealand, will assume the position from Jean-Marc Dragoli.
Dragoli will step into the position of Global Head of Nespresso Authorised Brands after four years overseeing operations in Oceania.
Vermeulen has held a number of leadership positions within Nespresso for more than 12 years, including three in charge of New Zealand operations and four years as Head of Nespresso Australia’s professional business.
His work in New Zealand includes the launch of the Vertuo system to market in 2021, as well as a variety of local sustainability initiatives.
“We truly believe that coffee can be a force for good for people, communities, and planet,” says Vermeulen. “The more we drive sustainable growth, the more we can have a positive impact as a brand and organisation through the entire value chain.”
Throughout Dragoli’s leadership tenure, the Oceania market has benefitted from the launch of several new product innovations. Key projects under his watch include a kerbside recycling trial, a new Recycling Rewards pilot, and the launch of the company’s first Australian StartCup Challenge.
Dragoli says that Vermeulen has “already established a strong foundation for success in the Oceania market.”
“[Stefan] has a deep understanding of the local coffee culture, our customer preferences and the nuances that exist in each market,” says Dragoli. “I have no doubt he will do great things in this role, leading with our employees, customers and business partners front of mind.”
