Swiss-based coffee trader Sucafina has established a China-based company, Sucafina Yunnan, to support its work with Yunnan coffee farmers.
This new endeavor will be launched in partnership with Depond, part of the Desheng Group.
“Partnering with Desheng opens new opportunities for sustainability for both companies and will support our promise to bring lasting and positive change to the industry as a whole.” say Sucafina CEO, Nicolas Tamari.
Sucafina says the deal brings its decades of quality and trade expertise from East Africa and South America to the producers and processors in Yunnan. Sucafina will work directly with farmers, wet mills, and dry mills to deliver premium Yunnan coffee to the world.
“Desheng shares Sucafina’s vision of a coffee supply chain that supports everyone in the chain,” says Depond CEO, Zhang Jianfeng.
Sucafina says it is dedicated to expanding global awareness about the great value and quality of Yunnan coffees. Its new Pu’er and Kunming offices will combine a focus on quality improvement and supply chain transparency with Sucafina’s strong global sales network.
Desheng Group was founded in 1997 and has grown to become one of the 200 largest private enterprises in China. The group operates across a diverse range of industries including steel production, property development, logistics, and agriculture.
