Sustainable Harvest raises $21,000 for coffee family

Sustainable Harvest has raised more than $21,000 to help save la roya ravaged coffee farm in Finca El Valle, Guatemala. Last month GCR Magazine announced the launch of the fundraiser at Let's Talk Coffee in Panama: Sustainable Harvest launches Kickstarter campaign to help save Guatemalan coffee farm GCR Magazine is pleased to announce that the campaign has been a success. “With the help of Batdorf & Bronson, Equator Coffees & Teas, Allegro Coffee, and many other generous donors, we raised more than $21,000 for Finca El Valle to replant areas of its farm, strengthen the plants, and improve on-farm processes,” said David Griswold, Sustainable Harvest’s President. “We’re very grateful to all donors for their support, and I can’t wait to taste all the amazing coffee that Finca El Valle will produce in the coming years.” Griswold travelled to Guatemala in early November to present the Gonzales family with a cheque to restore their coffee farm. Griswold will be in Australia in March when Sustainable Harvest brings its educational event, Let’s Talk Coffee, to Melbourne. Let’s Talk Coffee will take place 12 – 14 March in conjunction with the Melbourne International Coffee Expo. Image: leaf with la roya
