Specialty coffee importer Sustainable Harvest has published its 2017 Impact Report in a comic book format. Sustainable Harvest says publishing the report as a comic book makes the serious issues coffee producers currently face, including climate change, inequality, and market volatility, more approachable to a general audience. The company adds that despite these challenges, there are “heroes” in the supply chain who fight to improve coffee sustainability and quality. The comic determines five actions that can be taken to address these issues:
1. Demand transparency.
2. Forge deeper relationships.
3. Fund an origin project.
4. Join the Partnership for Gender Equity to support greater equity in coffee.
