The Amsterdam Coffee Festival is returning in 2015, with organisers looking to increase its contribution to Project Waterfall throughout the three-day event. Marked as “a celebration of Amsterdam’s vibrant coffee and artisan food scene,” the festival will donate 50 per cent of all ticket sales to supporting clean drinking and sanitation projects in coffee producing countries. With more than 3000 visitors coming through the gates at the inaugural event this year, Allegra Events is predicting a jump to 10,000 during the 15 – 17 May 2015 event. The festival format includes a dedicated industry day, which is then followed by a weekend of celebration of all things coffee. The Specialty Coffee Association of Europe Dutch Latte Art Competition, Dutch Cup Tasting Championship, Dutch Brewers Cup and Dutch Coffee Roasting Championship competition finals will all be taking place at the festival. Visitors will have the chance to pair coffee with oysters with the team from The Scandinavian Embassy, a café that specialises in this breakfast delicacy. The festival will be held at NDSM-werf in Amsterdam.
