Specialty coffee chain The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf has appointed Sanjiv Razdan as the new President of its American and Indian markets.
Razdan will bring more than 30 years of chain-restaurant industry experience from international brands such as Sweetgreen, Yum Brands, and Dine Brands.
“The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf brand is globally iconic and its mission of helping people find their perfect flavour has enormous untapped potential,” says Razdan.
Razdan will be responsible for growing the brands in high potential markets such as the United States and India, with a focus on growing The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf beyond California.
The role will also see Razdan increasing the brands presence on multiple channels with an overarching goal of repositioning the brand while building on its SoCal heritage.
“I’m excited to join this great brand and work closely with the new ownership as we scale and continue to introduce The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf brand to new markets, and in the process, help advance Jollibee Foods Corp’s goal of becoming one of the top five restaurant groups in the world,” says Razdan.
Razdan has held head and general management roles within Yum Brands also serving as COO at Applebee’s. Razdan’s most recent role was as COO of Sweetgreen’s where he led the business during rapid business scaling and through its transition to become a multi-channel brand.
The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf company is currently experiencing rapid growth with its grocery and ecommerce business growing by 50 per cent, as compared with its 2019 year-over-year growth record.
The brand recently established a store in Brooklyn, New York with plans to open more branches across the state and wider America.
Founded in 1963 in Los Angeles, the Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf company sources it’s ingredients globally with over 1055 retail locations internationally.
