The Netherlands’ branded coffee shop market on the rise

  The European Coffee Symposium will take place in Amsterdam from 21 – 22 November. In its fifth year, the event, organised by Allegra Events, is Europe’s flagship event for senior executives from coffee shops to the food sector. The event will provide a platform for industry leaders and discuss market insight, innovative ideas and provide networking opportunities. At the 2011 European Coffee Symposium in Berlin, the launch of Allegra Strategies’ ProjectCafé11 Europe report revealed the European branded coffee shop market of 22 countries was forecast to grow at a compound annual rate of 5.4 per cent over three years, reaching an estimated 13,788 outlets by 2014. In the same report, the Netherlands’ branded coffee shop market is forecast to grow at 13 per cent per annum until 2014, outperforming the European branded market. In the 12 months to October 2011, the Netherlands saw a growth of 27 per cent in outlet numbers. Allegra Strategies’ ProjectCafé12 Europe report is due to launch at the 2012 European Coffee Symposium, to take place at the Passenger Terminal in Amsterdam.
