UNIC, Electrolux Professional Group’s commercial espresso machine brand, is celebrating a trio of design awards for its Tango XP Super Automatic Espresso Machine.
The machine has been awarded the Red Dot Design Award, the German Design Award, and the Good Design Award. UNIC says the recognition establishes the Tango XP as a leader in super-automatic machines.
“UNIC’s Tango XP is more than just a super automatic coffee machine; it represents a forward-thinking innovation that respects heritage while meeting the needs of establishment owners, baristas, roasters, and service technicians,” a company statement reads.
“With its human-centric design, the Tango XP continues to set new standards in espresso machine design and functionality.”
UNIC says different aspects of the Tango XP were noted in each of the design award wins.
The Red Dot Design Awards focus on use, functionality, responsibility, and aesthetics, and UNIC says the Red Dot jury was impressed with the machine’s “innovative features, including a large, intuitive control panel, easy-to-clean surfaces, and modular design”.
Its Excellent Product Design win in the German Design Awards has been attributed to its eco-conscious approach and performance given this year’s emphasis on circular design.
Finally, the Good Design Award presented by the Chicago Athenaeum Museum was awarded due to the machine’s “sleek coffee spouts, transparent hoppers, and thoughtful serviceability features” according to UNIC.
The Good Design Award celebrates designers and manufacturers pursuing design excellence.
