The Specialty Coffee Association of America (SCAA) has opened a month-long ballot of its members on the question of whether it should unify with its European counterpart (the SCAE). The vote is the next step in a nine-month process that has included a vote in the affirmative from SCAE members in May. The SCAA vote was due to open on 27 June, however the shock Brexit result in the UK prompted concerns that the uncertainty could influence the outcome of the unification ballot, which was therefore delayed until 5 July. Members of the SCAA now have until 5 August to complete their voting. ”Our goal is that every SCAA member who is eligible to cast a vote not only participates, but feels fully informed and able to do so,” the SCAA said in a statement. “We are here to help provide information, answer questions and support our members through the close of the vote on August 5th. Please do not hesitate to reach out to us with any questions or requests, we’re here to help.” People who require assistance in the voting process, or if you are a member who did not receive your ballot, please contact:
