Leading espresso manufacturers Wega Macchine per Caffè announced on 5 February a partnership with the Organising Committee for the 2013 Fiemme Nordic Skiing World Championships. The event, which will take place in Val di Fiemme from 20 February to 3 March, will feature Wega coffee machines as its “official product”. The machines will be located in various locations, including the VIP restaurant at the Cross Country Track, the Chalet Italia, the Sporting Center in Predazzo, and under the public marquis at the Cross Country Track and Ski Jumping Stadium.
“We are proud and we’d like to thank the organising committee for their collaboration, which will allow our company the benefit from impressive international exposure,” said Paolo Nadalet, CEO for Wega Macchine per Caffè, in a statement. “The Nordic Skiing World Championships in fact are a unique, fantastically popular context in which to increase our visibility on the local restaurant scene and expose the Wega brand to a significant number of contacts who will be coming from all over the world to watch the races.”
A line-up of shows, tastings and games will take place during the event, where 55 national teams from five continents will compete before more than 300,000 live spectators. For the occasion, Wega will set up 10 “Coffee Islands”, putting into use the Wegaconcept. This energy saving espresso coffee machine can detect the activities of its users and automatically engage the work or stand by functions, allowing for certified energy savings of 47.6 per cent in standby mode and 30 per cent in operational mode.
The machines will be personalised with commemorative graphics to celebrate the Championship Rainbow Series, featuring the 2013 Trentino Fiemme logo.
