Private label beverage manufacturer Westrock Coffee Company has announced it will create a Financial Shared Services Centre in Concord, North Carolina designed to support strategic growth and domestic operations.
Westrock Coffee acquired S&D Coffee & Tea, located in Concord, in February 2020. It has since combined the company and has more than 1200 employees globally.
“We are pleased to announce the launch of our new shared services centre in Concord. A centralised account team in the heart of our coffee, tea, extracts, and ingredients manufacturing operations will drive the scalability and efficiencies necessary to support Westrock’s future growth,” says Chris Pledger, Chief Financial Officer of Westrock Coffee.
“The workforce in the Charlotte region is globally recognised as a financial services hub and we are excited about leveraging that talent base.”
Global operations will continue to be headquartered in Little Rock, however, the company says it remains committed to growing its operations in North Carolina, recognising the important role S&D has played in the surrounding community for nearly 100-years.
“Since 1927, S&D Coffee and Tea has richly invested in Concord through their physical facilities, workforce and community support,” says Mayor Bill Dusch, Mayor of Concord, North Carolina.
“As one of our largest employers, we are thrilled to see their commitment to continue their development and expansion here.”
The company is now looking to hire 40 local accounting professionals with immediate plans to scale the size of the team as the company grows.
