World Coffee Events has announced it will sponsor a select few people to attend its Re:co event, in Gothenburg Sweden, running 15 – 16 June. WCE has created the Re:co Symposium Fellowship program to give those who might not normally be able to attend for financial reasons access to the event. “The ideal Re:co Symposium Fellow is a future or current leader in specialty coffee, driving the future of coffee,” said WCE, in a statement. “They might be a barista who has pushed their coffee-shop forward, a producer co-op leader who has organised their community around coffee quality, a young entrepreneur who is building a company around a great idea, or a person working for an NGO who is making a special difference.” Re:co is launching in Europe for the first time this year. Through its line-up of speakers, Re:co will encourage a conversation between visitors from all over the world, focusing on the new specialty coffee market in Europe. The fellowship also includes access to the Nordic World of Coffee, which will host five world coffee championships from 16 – 18 June. A second Re:co event has been announced in Guatemala, in conjunction with the National Coffee Congress in August.
