American coffee company Angelino’s Coffee has announced the launch of its Cup of Excellence (CoE) Collection, which it hails as the first release to unite the 16 highest scoring coffees on Earth — all of which are winners of the Cup of Excellence competition.
Available in whole-bean and Keurig compatible pods, the Collection will consist of sixThey curated releases, with coffees from Costa Rica, Honduras, and Peru making up the first release.
The Costa Rican Geisha from Don Cayito by Luis Ricardo Calderón Madrigal scored 93.62 and was the highest scoring coffee of any country.
The Honduran Geisha from La Salsa by Benjamin Paz Muñoz scored 91.21, while the Peruvian Geisha, Bourbon, and Caturra blend from El Mirador by Miguel Padilla Chinguel scored 90.54.
Angelino’s Founder Kirk Bedrossian says the aim of the collection is to make the best quality coffee in the world more accessible to more people.
“These coffees are usually reserved for elite buyers in Japan, Saudi Arabia, or Michelin-starred establishments,” Bedrossian says.
“We’ve done something no one else has, brought them all together and made them more accessible to more people.”
Angelino’s has partnered with US Roasting Champion and Houston Regional Champion Rudy Altamirano and has invested in two Roastronix roasters to aid in the production of the CoE Collection.
Bedrossian says releases like the CoE Collection help directly support the producers of high-quality coffee, which in turn builds a stronger international coffee value chain.
“It’s not just about tasting the best,” Bedrossian says. “It’s about honouring the people behind every bean and inviting more people to share their success.”
Angelino’s has also implemented a dedicated canning and filling line to deliver the CoE Collection in custom-labelled aluminium cans and collector boxes which have been crafted to “reflect the rarity and beauty of what’s inside” according to the business.
