The Specialty Coffee Association of America (SCAA) has announced that the US Coffee Championships will be held at the newly renovated Long Beach Arena, California, from 19 – 22 February. The waterfront events space has only recently been opened after a US $7 million facelift. It is part of the Long Beach Convention and Entertainment Centre, which includes two theatres, the arena and 34 meeting rooms.

The 2015 US Coffee Championships will consist of the US Barista Championship, US Brewers Cup, US Latte Art Championship, US Cup Tasters Championship and the Roasters Choice Competition. Only those who have qualified in a regional competition will have the opportunity to compete in the 2015 US Barista Competition and US Brewers Cup. The SCAA will release the dates for the regional coffee competitions in the coming weeks.
The winners from the national events will be given the chance to compete in the World Championships. The Worlds Brewers Cup and World Latte Art Championship will be held in Gothenburg, Sweden from 16 – 18 June. The 2015 World Barista Championship will take place in Seattle, US from 9 – 12 April. The SCAA has called for anyone who is interested in competing or volunteering in any of these events to email competitions@scaa.org.
