For the first time at Host Milano, IoT telemetry data company BibeCoffee will embed its technology into the espresso machines used by competitors at the World Barista Championship (WBC).
Every competition espresso machine will be equipped with BibeCoffee’s telemetry technology, allowing real-time monitoring of extraction performances for the competitors. The live data will be shared through WBC statistics and Specialty Coffee Association (SCA) insights.
The Greek telemetry company is the silver sponsor of the WBC, with its services the official telemetry provider of the event.
“At BibeCoffee, we believe data is the new essential ingredient in coffee excellence,” says Panos Vrettos, Co-Founder and Chief of Strategy.
“True to its pioneering spirit, BibeCoffee brings its technology to the heart where barista champions unite — aiming for recognition and excellence on the global stage.
“Becoming the official telemetry partner of the WBC on its 25th anniversary is an honour and a milestone for the industry. We are proud to empower the coffee community with real-time insights that drive consistency, efficiency, and sustainability — at scale.”
BibeCoffee systems are integrated across more than 25,000 machines worldwide. The technology is designed to help roasters, coffee chains, and manufacturers ensure brewing consistency, reduce waste, extend asset life, and accelerate sustainability goals.
Its IoT telemetry SaaS platform is powered by IoT technology that connects professional coffee machines and grinders to the cloud, allowing coffee roasters, distributors, and chains to remotely monitor and optimise their operations.
The World Barista Champion 2025 takes place at Host Milano in Italy from 17 to 21 October.
