New York specialty coffee roaster and Australian inspired café chain Bluestone Lane has appointed Lisa Mann, former President of Global Nutrition Group at PepsiCo, to its Board of Directors.

Mann brings more than 25 years of experience with her including as Executive Vice-President and Chief Marketing Officer of Kind Snacks, where she worked directly with its founder to drive organisational growth. She also has more than 15 years of experience working at Kraft Foods and Mondelez International.

“Lisa brings invaluable insights and a proven track record of fostering customer loyalty to grow good-for-you brands into household names,” says Nicholas Stone, Founder and Chief Executive Officer, Bluestone Lane. “As we continue to accelerate out of the pandemic, we are excited to tap into her knowledge and insights.”

Recognised by Advertising Age’s “Women to Watch” and AdWeek’s Brand Genius Award, she holds degrees from Harvard Business School and Tufts University. She is currently Managing Director and CMO at Raines International.

Bluestone Lane seeks to become a national household name through using multiple channels to reach locals. In her new role, Mann will assist with this goal, advising the brand on marketing, brand positioning, and digital engagement with a focus on growth in packaging products in the Grocery and Direct channels.

“I have been a longtime local of Bluestone Lane and have followed with amazement the innovation and rapid pace of their growth and resiliency,” Mann says.

“I’m excited to progress my relationship with the brand to joining the Board of Directors at a time when the business continues its acceleration post-COVID-19 across the country with its unique retail stores and also [consumer packaged good] offerings.”

Created by Melbourne-born Nick Stone, Bluestone Lane now operates 51 coffee shops and cafés across the US and Canada. It was named one of the fastest growing private companies in NY by Inc. 5000.

The brand aims to transform US coffee culture, offering personal customer serve and seamless app-based ordering and payment in the hospitality sector. Currently, app-based payment makes up 90 per cent of its business.

“Bluestone Lane is the next evolution of the coffee experience in the US, appealing to a younger consumer,” says Mann.
