Tiny Capital, a Canadian holding company, has announced it will be investing into AeroPress, owners of the AeroPress coffee maker.
The Aeropress was created by engineer Alan Adler, who will retain ownership of the business and continue to be involved in operations. Aeropress’s headquarters will also remain in Palo Alto, California. and manufacturing will stay at the same factory in the San Francisco Bay Area.

The Aeropress coffee maker was created in 2005 and is now sold in more than 80 countries. At the end of 2019 the company also released the AeroPress Go which provides the same brewing capabilities as the original Aeropress with a combined drinking mug.
AeroPress also supports the AeroPress World Championships, an annual even that brings together more than 3000 competitors from more than 60 countries to compete in brewing coffee.

Alan began researching coffee brewing in 2002, eventually rising to fame for the AeroPress which uses air pressure to speed up the filtering process, minimising coffee’s bitter taste. This was introduced to the world at the 2005 Coffee Fest show in Seattle, where it has grown to what it is today.
“I’ve been a daily user of the AeroPress for a long time, and one morning I looked down at it and said ‘I wonder who owns this’. My partner Chris and I sent Alan an email, flew down to see him, and have been begging him to let us invest ever since,” says Andrew.
“We’re thrilled to be able to bring marketing to help put AeroPresses in homes, offices, and backpacks all over the world. It’s an incredible business.”
Alan has other claims to fame, such as the Aerobie flying ring which set the Guinness World Record for the farthest thrown object in 1984. He also has designed instrumentation systems for aircraft and nuclear reactors, a paraboloid lens for telescopes, end-blown flutes, boats, and more. He currently holds 40 patents, with more inventions in the works.
Founded in 2007 by Canadian entrepreneurs and investors Andrew Wilkinson and Chris Sparling, Tiny Capital aims to partner with organisations to protect their teams and culture, keeping businesses operating long-term.
