Caravela Coffee has appointed Jacqueline Green as its new independent non-executive director with immediate effect.

“I am delighted to be joining the Board of a company that has been a pioneer in the fast-growing specialty coffee industry and has done an extraordinary work of empowering coffee producers in Latin America in its first 20 years in business,” Green says.

“I am very much looking forward to being part of the next 20 years, contributing my experience and knowledge to benefit Caravela, its team, customers and the hundreds of coffee-growing communities where it is present.”

Green has been involved in fresh food businesses since she graduated in 1995. She studied Law, French, and Spanish and found that, unexpectedly, languages and fresh produce seemed like a fit.

Green recently left Berry Gardens, a United Kingdom cooperative of soft and stone fruit growers where she was CEO. Before this, she was General Manager of Wingland Foods (Bakkavor) – a prepared salads business, prior to that Commercial Director at Capespan and in the early 2000’s General Manager of IPL, a joint venture between Geest and Asda (Walmart).

Green has spoken previously on responding to consumer preference, sustainable futures, talent development, and supply chain efficiency. She has also held many positions on Trade Boards, Retailer committees, a Charity Board, and worked with Government working groups. Caravela says she is passionate about personal development, and, as well as her consulting and Non-Executive roles, also works as a Mentor and is a qualified Transformational Coach.

“We are thrilled to have Jacqui join our Board of Directors as one of our two independent non-executive directors. She brings a wealth of experience, having worked for more than 25 years in fresh produce and agri-business,” says Alejandro Cadena, Co-founder and CEO of Caravela.

“Jacqui is a dynamic business leader that is well aligned with Caravela’s values and mission, and I have no doubt that with her help leading the Company’s strategy, Caravela will continue to grow and expand its impact, whilst further improving the Company’s governance.”
