Cimbali Group has released its 2023 Sustainability Report, which details its efforts in addressing environmental, social, and governance (ESG) issues, along with its forward-looking goals.

In the report entitled Our Blend for the Future, the company outlines its responsibility.

“Sustainability has become increasingly integral to Cimbali Group’s way of being, thinking, and acting, with its blend for the future enriched with new ingredients and aromas,” the company said in a statement.

“The company’s horizon of responsibility has expanded: considering the impacts across the entire value chain, placing even more emphasis on people and the commitment to spreading culture; and establishing a governance model that ensures adherence to ESG principles at all levels.”

This report represents a significant milestone in a journey that began over three years ago, first introduced during the HOST 2023 event, where the company showcased its commitment to sustainability alongside its initial actions.

The report outlines three essential pillars of a forward-looking strategy to be achieved through incremental steps.

As part of its ethics and sustainability governance pillar, Cimbali Group has established a robust governance model that prioritises diversity, independence, and transparent communication.

The company underscores its commitment to integrity and responsible management, reporting 33 per cent of its Board of Directors composed of women, zero reports through whistleblowing channels, and 95 employees trained in anti-corruption practices.

As part of its people and culture pillar, the company has developed policies to foster inclusivity, diversity, and employee well-being. Cimbali Group employs over 800 people worldwide, with 37 per cent of new hires in 2023 being women, and has provided more than 10,500 hours of training.

Through its final pillar – sustainability of the value chain – the Group has embraced circular economy principles and increased its use of renewable energy, with 54 per cent of its electricity consumption derived from renewable sources, 7 per cent of which is self-produced.

Additionally, 50 per cent of its product range has been analysed through Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) studies.

Cimbali Group President, Maurizio Cimbali, says it is imperative for companies to ensure full awareness of the impact of its activities on both the environment and society as a whole.

“Cimbali Group is ready to embrace this challenge, demonstrated by our growing commitment to integrating sustainability into our actions and business processes. Sustainability is a key pillar of our current and future growth strategy, guiding us in generating increasing value for the environment, our communities and the broader ecosystem.”
