United Arab Emirates (UAE) specialty coffee company Coffee Planet is celebrating its 20th anniversary with a new initiative offering free training to aspiring baristas.

Brewing Futures is designed to provide comprehensive hands-on training, guided by coffee professionals with decades of experience, to make specialty coffee “more accessible to all”.

“Reflecting on our Brewing Futures program, I’m reminded why we do what we do at Coffee Planet: to create real opportunities for those passionate about coffee and ready to build a career in it,” says Coffee Planet CEO Jamie Brown.

“Seeing the energy and determination in our trainees has only strengthened our mission: to empower aspiring baristas and build a future where opportunity and specialty coffee go hand in hand.”

The program is tailored to inspire “confidence and excellence” in each participant and encompasses topics such as mastering the basics of coffee brewing and advanced barista techniques.

In a statement, Coffee Planet said the program also strengthens its commitment to specialty coffee culture. Selected graduates will have the opportunity to join its cafés, ensuring the program contributes to the company’s vision of both community and brand growth.

Coffee Planet was named a “UAE Superbrand” at the 19th Annual Superbrands Tribute at Dubai Festival City in November 2023 and also received four industry awards in the Middle East.

The brand was established in the UAE in 2005. Today, the company’s coffee is served at leading five-star hotels, airlines, offices, restaurants, and more. It can also be purchased in over 700 retail outlets and through numerous online channels.
