Cooks Coffee Company’s growth in the United Kingdom (UK) and Ireland has helped the New Zealand-founded company record a 111 per cent increase to year-on-year group revenues to NZ$5.77 million (US$3.31 million) in H12025.

The company operates Esquires, an organic coffee company in the region.

Significant growth was derived from company-managed stores in Ireland following a partnership with Dairygold, however like-for-like revenue in the Ireland still grew 19 per cent excluding the partnership.

Overall store sales in the UK and Ireland increased 26.9 per cent to NZ$45.5 million, with a new store opening in partnership with Tesco took total store counts to 100.

Executive Chairman Keith Jackson says Cooks and Esquire are primed to continue the current growth trend moving into 2026.

“The strong trading performance in the first half of the financial year built on last year’s momentum and has continued into the second half. The Directors expect second-half results to exceed first-half performance, as certain one-off costs that affected the first half are not expected to recur,” says Jackson.

“The company’s revenues are primarily derived from royalties tied to individual site sales. The directors’ priority is to support franchisees’ growth profitability and to maintain a robust pipeline of new stores in the UK and Ireland to sustain ongoing expansion.

“After a strong first half, the Directors are confident the business models remain well suited to current consumer conditions, despite wider economic concerns. The Regional Development model’s expansion across the UK will help accelerate network growth; the Company is actively seeking Regional Development partners for Scotland and Northern Ireland.”

Cooks is also continuing its planned transition to relocate its business to the UK where the largest market in the business operates. It also operates in Portugal and Saudi Arabia, while the first Esquires branded stores are expected to open in India before the end of the current financial year.

Overall international store numbers were 14 at the report date.

Cooks continues to target having 300 stores in the UK and Ireland by 2034, and expects that number of Esquires outlets operating in the region by the end of March 2026 to be 108.
