The CEO of Costa Coffee India, Kamaljit Singh Bedi, has tendered his resignation from the position effective 12 December 2025, leaving the business searching for its third CEO in less than three years.
Costa Coffee India is run by master franchisee Devyani International, which is also the regional master franchisee for other brands including KFC and Pizza Hut.
Bedi stepped into the role in January 2025 following the resignation of Sreejit Nair for personal reasons in November 2024. He had previously been the CEO of Institutional Business and New Business Ventures for Devyani International.
In his letter of resignation, disclosed by Devyani under Regulation 30 of the SEBI Regulations, 2015, Bedi says he will pursue opportunities outside the organisation.
“I hereby tender my resignation from the position of Chief Executive Officer – Costa Coffee and Airport Business, with effect from the close of business hours on December 12, 2025,” the letter reads.
“This decision has been made after careful consideration, owing to personal reasons and my intention to explore new career opportunities outside the organisation.
“Over the course of my tenure, I have had the privilege of working alongside an exceptional team of colleagues. I am deeply grateful for the trust, support, and collaboration extended to me during this journey.”
India is one of more than 30 markets in which the Costa Coffee brand is present. In May 2025, it was named as the fastest-growing brand under the Devyani banner. In April, Costa Global CEO Philippe Schaille labelled India as a “top 20 market” for the brand, and that it was a critical part of its global growth strategy.
There are currently more than 200 Costa location in India, averaging the opening of 40-50 new stores a year under Devyani.
