Roasting software company Cropster has introduced the Cafe Inventory Insight Feature, tailored for coffee chains to help monitor unsold coffee.

“This innovative tool empowers managers and floor managers to effortlessly oversee coffee stock, optimise inventory, and boost operational efficiency,” the company said in a statement.

The Cafe Inventory Insight Feature helps monitor unsold coffee by comparing sold shots from Point of Sale (POS) data with actual brewed shots. This approach is designed to streamline operations across multiple locations, enabling coffee shops to focus on customer service and helping to minimise financial losses through lost inventory.

The Inventory Insight feature includes Dashboard and KPI Cards that deliver detailed information on unsold coffee, with data presented in shots, monetary value, and weight, alongside Key Performance Indicators and visual graphs.

It also offers a POS data upload option for easy tracking of unsold coffee by uploading data from the POS system to identify discrepancies. Additionally, the feature supports coffee menu creation, facilitating the integration of a detailed coffee menu with SKUs from the POS system.

The feature is designed to spot inefficiencies by identifying areas for improvement through tracking unaccounted coffee and evaluating shift performance.

It is also said to enhance staff efficiency by assessing the impact of barista training and equipment adjustments, which helps in reducing unsold coffee. Furthermore, it optimises reordering by monitoring consumption trends to allow for informed stock decisions that enhance cash flow.
