DMCC Coffee Centre and M-Cultivo have wrapped up the second edition of the Dubai Coffee Auction, which took place as part of World of Coffee Dubai.
Coffees from 13 producing origins were represented, including the first ever international auction of a coffee produced in the continental United States.
A total of 1364 bids were attracted across the auctions, with the lots selling for a combined total in excess of US$70,000.
DMCC Chief Free Zone Affairs Officer, Ahmad Hamza, says the growth of auctions like the Dubai Coffee Auction indicate a growing international appetite for direct access between producers and end-buyers.
“With the global coffee market now valued at more than US$130 billion, and specialty coffee accounting for a steadily growing share of consumption, credible price discovery has become essential for the sector’s long-term sustainability,” says Hamza.
“The results of the Dubai Coffee Auction 2026 – which featured the largest number of international origins ever represented in a single auction – clearly demonstrate the depth of global demand for high-quality, traceable coffees when producers are given direct access to international buyers.
“Through this platform, DMCC is translating Dubai’s infrastructure into transparent pricing, genuine competition and tangible value creation at origin, reinforcing the emirate’s role as a global hub for specialty coffee trade.”
M-Cultivo has reported the auction results from the 24 coffees available, with a Natural Geisha from Panama’s Hacienda La Esmeralda purchased by Twangcoffee leading the way with a purchase price of US$3075 per kilogram.
Other notable results include Panama’s Janson Coffee Farm selling a Geisha Natural Waved for US$1100 per kilogram and a X Geisha Natural for US$930 per kilogram, and a Finca Nuguo Washed Geisha remaining in Panama, with Panama Coffee Studios purchasing the lot for US$1810 per kilogram.
The first continental United States lot ever sold at auction – a California Washed Geisha by Frinj Coffee – was sold to Philocoffea for US$256 per kilogram.
The Dubai Coffee Auction consisted of three auctions to take part at World of Coffee Dubai, with the others consisting of an equipment auction, and an auction consisting of signature selections from roasters and producers exhibiting at World of Coffee Dubai.
