COTECA will be held for its second year in September 2012 , as a highlight for the coffee, tea and cocoa business, taking place in Hamburg, Germany. COTECA is Europe’s first trade show to cover the complete process chain from raw material to finished product. It is a global industry showcase, held at the Hamburg Fair site from 20 to 22 September 2012, bringing together exhibitors and visitors from all over the world.   COTECA is accompanied by a high-quality conference with experts from all stages in the value chain discussing the future of the booming coffee, tea and cocoa markets. The event is set as an ideal location to exchange ideas on current trends and create business contacts. The COTECA conference will feature top speakers from four continents. Their key subjects will include the impact of climate change; finance and commodities; price development; and consumer trends. COTECA brings together high-ranking representatives of business, the academic community, government and society, to discuss the challenges and opportunities for coffee, cocoa and tea in tomorrow’s markets. A large number of leading companies from 22 countries have already confirmed their attendance, event organisers have announced. They include Bernhard Benecke, Bühler, the Coffee Board of India, Dethlefsen & Balk, Frey & Lau, GEA Niro, the German Coffee Association, the German Roaster Guild, Glatfelter, H.D. Cotterell, Hälssen & Lyon, Indonesian Tea & Coffee Pavilion, IMA INDUSTRIE, List & Beisler, Loring Smartroast, Market Grounds, OHKI, Panama, Probat, Rainforest Alliance, Tamara Coffee, Tea-Cha, and Wollenhaupt. COTECA is supported by the German Tea Association, the German Coffee Association and the German Cocoa Trade Association. Bernd Aufderheide, President and CEO of Hamburg Messe und Congress GmbH says that COTECA, the Global Industry Expo for the Tea, Coffee & Cocoa business, was a complete success at its launch event in 2010, saying: “We had plenty of positive feedback for the first COTECA in 2010 and want to follow up the success this year.”   Arthur E. Darboven, Managing Partner of Bernhard Bennecke Coffee / Rehm & Co., also said he was also very satisfied with the last event: “We were able to reach all our target groups of small and medium-sized roasters from Europe and the Middle East, right through to the exporters and producers from Central America and Africa.” The Free and Hanseatic City of Hamburg is the venue for COTECA. The whole event is held in the heart of Hamburg, a city with a centuries-old tradition of handling exquisite coffee, tea and cocoa specialities. Hamburg has a proud heritage of coffee warehouses in the “Speicherstadt” district, and is the headquarters of many of the big players who study and serve consumer trends throughout the world. The city itself has a lot to offer its visitors, as Germany’s second largest city and its wealthiest. Hamburg is recognised as one of the greenest cities in Europe and is known as the ‘Venice of the North’. Further information available at the website www.COTECA-hamburg.com.
