The International Coffee Organization (ICO) is launching a global campaign in time for International Coffee Day on 1 October.

ICO’s digital campaign encourages participants to register planned coffee events via its website, use the hashtag #ICD2025, and help spread its message on the importance of collaboration across communication channels.

The intergovernmental organisation also encourages video messages that complete the phrase “Coffee is collaboration because…”, and tagging @icocoffeeorg and using the hashtag #ICD2025.

“Coffee is a product of many hands and many hearts. When farmers, cooperatives, researchers, roasters, traders, baristas and consumers work together, we create opportunities for income, resilience and environmental stewardship,” says Vanúsia Nogueira, Executive Director at ICO.

“This year’s campaign calls for practical collaboration that delivers real benefits along the whole chain. Join us – take part in the challenges and show how, together, coffee can be a force for good.”

The digital campaign calls on stakeholders in the global coffee value chain to support collaboration, resilience, and sustainable development. The theme of the campaign is designed to champion coffee farmers and cooperatives, traders, roasters, baristas, and consumers to secure sustainable livelihoods.

The ICO invites all levels of the industry to participate, including governments, industry partners, civil society, cooperatives, and consumers by hosting events, sharing campaign assets, and posting with #ICD2025.

The campaign follows the relaunch of the Coffee Sustainability Support Database. Its new and improved digital features aim to provide an interactive platform that enhances transparency, collaboration, and strategic alignment across sustainability initiatives in the global coffee sector.
