On 8 September, commercial water and coffee systems manufacturer Marco Beverage Systems was named one of Irelands top 25 Best Managed Companies for 2021.

The Best Managed Companies awards program, which Deloitte runs in association with the Bank of Ireland, released its list of top 25 first time winners and requalified winners, alongside its Gold Standard and Platinum Standard winners.

Each list aims to recognise private businesses and ‘the exceptional performance that drives them’. The programmes evaluation criteria has four key areas: Strategy, culture and commitment, Capabilities and Innovation, and Governance and Financials.

Marco Beverage Systems says this recognition reflects its strong strategic planning and progress across each category.

According to the company, these factors have helped it to sustain global business growth, with this award demonstrating how its core values of care, innovation, knowledge, integrity, and passion has helped the business to stay focused and connected during challenging periods.

“To win this award is a great endorsement of the collective effort of the Marco Management Team in the most adverse set of circumstances. Maintaining strategic clarity, aligned focus and growth in the face of Brexit complications, a depressed marketplace and global Covid disruption has been a real test of our team and our will to succeed,” says Paul Stack, Managing Director of Marco Beverage Systems.

“I am very proud of the Management Team and Marco staff globally, as we are exiting the Covid crisis stronger than we were entering it.”

Marco Beverage Systems has been serving the global food service, catering, and specialty beverage industry for 40 years, constantly seeking to enable beverage excellence through innovation and customer-centric design.

“By focusing on our customer needs, driving innovation, and fostering a strong company culture, Marco has grown from a small Irish business to a global leader in the foodservice industry,” says Drewry Pearson, Executive Chairman of Marco Beverage Systems.

“The Deloitte Best Managed Company Award celebrates the hard work, passion and commitment shown by everyone at Marco. I would like to congratulate all our staff and thank our strong management team, led by Paul Stack, for this wonderful achievement.”

With the announcement of this year’s winners, the program now recognises 139 companies as Ireland’s Best Managed Companies.

According to Deloitte, 2021 had the highest number of new applicants in the history of the program, with the entrants representing a range of different sectors.

Marco Beverage Systems predicts 2022 will be a year of continued innovation as the company brings touchless water systems, a new range of countertop water boilers, and a cold coffee dispense system to the market.
