Nestlé has announced it is working with The Nature Conservancy (TNC) and Goodwall in its global operations in a bid to accelerate the transition to regenerative agriculture and encourage young people to enter farming.
The new partnerships were unveiled at the World Economic Forum Annual Meeting in Davos, Switzerland, where the idea for the collaboration was first conceived a year ago.
Nestlé Chief Operating Officer, Stephanie Hart, says Nestlé aims to further progress the push to regenerative agriculture through the partnership.
“Regenerative agriculture is essential to the long-term resilience of our business and the global food system,” says Hart.
“By combining TNC’s conservation expertise with Goodwall’s ability to mobilise millions of young people, we can accelerate progress and build a more sustainable future for farmers, communities, and the planet.”
Prior to the new agreement, Nestlé and TNC previously worked together to produce the Nestlé Agriculture Framework, which is being implemented to help farmers grow better crops and earn more from their work.
“We are delighted to continue collaborating with Nestlé, a company that shares our commitment for a more resilient food system,” says TNC CEO Jennifer Morris.
“Together, we can scale practical, science-based solutions that restore ecosystems, protect biodiversity, and strengthen farmer livelihoods.”
As part of its partnership with global youth learning platform Goodwall, Nestlé will help Goodwall build its agriculture curriculum.
Co-Founder and CEO of Goodwall Taha Bawa says the partnership will open new pathways for young people to not just be part of the solution, but also lead the way in the shift towards regenerative agriculture.
