The Saudi Coffee Company (SCC) has signed seven strategic Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) at the Public Investment Fund (PIF) Private Sector Forum 2025 with the aim to drive sustainability, expand production, empower the private sector, and enhance Saudi coffee’s presence in global markets.

“The PIF Private Sector Forum 2025 provides an invaluable platform for fostering collaboration with the private sector,” says Khalid N. Abu Theeb, CEO of SCC.

“These strategic MoUs mark a significant milestone in SCC’s mission to elevate Saudi coffee as a globally recognised premium product. By working closely with key stakeholders, we are ensuring a thriving and sustainable future for the Saudi coffee industry. Through these partnerships, we reaffirm SCC’s role as a key enabler in Saudi Arabia’s coffee ecosystem, ensuring shared success across the entire value chain through innovation, sustainability, and growth.”

In terms of innovation and research, the MoU with Shahia Food Company (Dunkin’) focuses on research, innovation, and product development. The agreement also includes specialised training programs through the SCC Academy, aimed at enhancing barista expertise and elevating coffee preparation standards across the industry.

Meanwhile, an MoU with Future Harvest will explore freeze-drying technology to help enhance coffee preservation. Additionally, an MoU with Ma’aden will aim to enhance soil quality and develop specialised fertilisers tailored for coffee farming.

In terms of supply and distribution, an MoU with Alghanim Industries/Costa Coffee will aim to enhance coffee bean production through local sourcing from SCC’s new manufacturing facility. This agreement also includes product development initiatives, and a Free Zone partnership aimed at boosting international market access.

As part of the MoU with Aani & Dani, the companies will collaborate on product development and coffee bean supply to drive innovation in coffee offerings.

Regarding infrastructure and operations, an MoU with Initial Saudi Group will provide facilities management services, to help the scaling of SCC’s coffee production and processing centres.

Finally, an MoU with Lawazem will aim to bolster supply chain efficiencies. This agreement aims to improve market accessibility and enhance the availability of Saudi coffee across key domestic and international markets.
