Thermoplan has released its 2024 sustainability report and shared insights into the company’s projects it says are shaping a more sustainable future.
The Swiss coffee machine manufacturer’s strategy is built on three pillars: respect, reduce resources, and improving products for the benefit of the customer and environment with the help of technology.
The report has cited the opening of its new Swiss production facility in June 2024 as a key milestone in its goal of reaching net zero. The building was awarded a LEED Platinum certification, which is the highest level of achievement within the Leadership in Energy and Design green building rating system.
To reach LEED Platinum status, a building must earn a minimum of 80 points on a 110-point scale and demonstrate sustainable design and construction practices across a range of categories, including water efficiency, energy and atmosphere, and indoor environmental quality.
It is also aiming to achieve net zero carbon emissions by 2050.
CEO of Thermoplan AG Adrian Steiner says the company’s sustainability roadmap will continue to be updated as time progresses.
“As an innovation leader in the development and production of high-quality fully automatic coffee machines, we not only reinforced our role as a pioneer in sustainability but also set new standards with groundbreaking projects,” says Steiner.
“With the implementation of our new strategy at the end of 2025, we will also update and sharpen our sustainability roadmap. We will continue to rely on our proven principles: full circularity, fair social and environmental conditions with all stakeholders and absolute transparency in communication.”
