Probat has been awarded the Speciality Coffee Association (SCA) Best New Product Award 2023 for its P05 hydrogen roaster at World of Coffee Athens.

In a unanimous decision, the judges declared the P05 roaster the winner in the ‘Commercial Coffee Preparation and Serving Equipment’ category.

Probat CTO Thomas Koziorowski accepted the award alongside Product Manager Julian Pöpping and Head of Sales Speciality Roaster Jens Roelofs.

“I am really happy that the importance of our innovate hydrogen technology for the green transformation of the coffee industry has been underlined once again with this award,” says Koziorowski. “Whether it’s a new acquisition or a retrofit for installed machines of any size, we support our customers in switching to hydrogen or electricity.”

Probat’s goal is to future-proof the sector. With the P05 hydrogen roaster, the German manufacturer of processing plant and machinery uses hydrogen as the primary energy source without compromising on taste.

Testing of the hydrogen and electrical roasting on the P05 speciality roasters is available to anyone at the PROBAT R&D Centre in Emmerich.

Each year, the Best New Product Award recognises new products that represent the best in quality and value to the industry. This year’s competition saw winners across five categories.
