Reborn Coffee is continuing its global expansion push with a US$1.3 million master licensing agreement with Reborn Health Foods (Shenzen) Co. Ltd. to develop and sublicense Reborn Coffee locations throughout mainland China.
As part of its role as exclusive master licensee, Reborn Health Foods will oversee the brand’s national operations and expansion efforts, including direct store developments and managing regional sub-licensing partnerships.
The deal will not only see Reborn Coffee enter a new area of the booming Chinese café and coffee market but also comes just weeks after the company confirmed a US$1.7 million agreement with Arjomand Group to lead the development of the brands in the Middle East, Europe, and MENA regions.
In the past 12 months Reborn has also expanded into South Korea with the majority acquisition of Bbang Ssaem Bakery, a chain with 31 locations across South Korea, and a joint venture with Gaingan Humantech Co. to open three Reborn locations in Bangkok, Thailand.
CEO of Reborn Coffee Inc. Jay Kim says the licensing agreement with Reborn Health Foods lays the foundation for successful expansion into China.
“This master agreement sets the foundation for unified growth and brand consistency across one of the most dynamic consumer markets in the world,” says Kim.
“Our partner brings the scale, strategy, and operational excellence to lead Reborn’s multi-format rollout across key provinces and cities in China.”
Expansion plans are already reportedly in progress in Sichuan and other Chinese metropolitan hubs, which aligns with the company’s roadmap to establish more than 300 global locations within the next two years.
