The Specialty Coffee Association (SCA) has announced the return of its second Coffee Retail Summit which will be held virtually, and is free to attend, from June 22 to 23 2021, Central European Summer Time (CEST).

The summit programme is retail-focused and designed to build upon its existing ongoing resource library that seeks to support coffee businesses.

The event will see a range of live lectures and discussions that focus on dealing with the current post-pandemic retail landscape and how to overcome challenges commonly faced by coffee retailers.

“The launch of the second Coffee Retail Summit serves as another exciting opportunity for us to build on feedback from the specialty coffee business community and continue developing a valuable resource for retail, in light of the ever-changing landscape caused by the pandemic,” says Yannis Apostolopoulos, SCA’s Chief Executive Officer.

With a goal to deliver up-to-date information, the summit will also host talks and discussions based upon community feedback, commercial insight, and market research.

SCA’s ongoing research library has been updated with the first Coffee Retail Summit presentation slides, as well as lectures, podcasts and longform writing that focuses on the challenges also faced by the wider coffee community.

“New challenges for retail business are emerging on a near-weekly basis, and continuing to facilitate open access to knowledge and resources for the global specialty coffee community remains a central focus for the SCA,” says Apostolopoulos.

The summit and ongoing research library has been made possible thanks to SCA’s partners, such as BWT water+more, that seek to support coffee retailers post pandemic.

“We’re delighted to support this event and the associated resource library in ensuring continued access to resources and information for the global community of coffee retailers” says Frank Neuhausen, Managing Director at BWT water+more.

“The coffee retail community continues to face numerous challenges, and we’re pleased to be supporting the ongoing growth of the platform as a valued resource for retail professionals, amidst the uncertainty of the current climate.”
