One of Australia’s largest specialty roasters, Toby’s Estate, has opened a store in Jakarta, signaling its first foray into the growing Indonesian coffee market. The store will serve coffee from a variety of origins, Indonesia included, and serve dishes such as avocado on toast, which has become recognized as a hallmark of Australian café culture. Indonesia has a long-standing coffee culture, and a growing middle class, making it an attractive prospect for high-end coffee businesses. The Sydney-based Toby’s Estate already has stores in the US, the Philippines and Kuwait.
