European coffee roasting equipment manufacturer Typhoon Roasters has transitioned its entire product line to fully electric machines.

The launch of the electric machines follows a long process of internal development that is said to reflect the company’s commitment to sustainability, safety, and performance.

All Typhoon models now operate solely on electricity, eliminating the need for gas infrastructure. According to the manufacturer, the machines use patented fluid-bed convection technology that ensures rapid, even heat distribution without direct contact between beans and hot metal surfaces to improve flavour clarity and reduce fire risk and energy waste.

“Electric systems offer more than environmental benefits – they also make the roasting process safer, more precise, and easier to manage,” says Nikolas Krutin, Founder and Head of Product Development at Typhoon Roasters.

The company has introduced an updated version of its proprietary PRO roasting software to further support consistency and control. The new interface is designed to help roasters create and repeat detailed profiles with greater accuracy, making it easier to scale production while maintaining cup quality.

Typhoon’s roasters consume 0.3 kWh of electricity per kilogram of green coffee, making them one of the most energy-efficient roasting solutions on the market. The electric format also simplifies installation, especially in urban environments, by removing the need for gas permits or complex ventilation systems.
