Malaysian coffee chain Zus Coffee has now launched in Thailand, and plans to significantly grow its presence in the new region over the course of 2026.
Following the opening of its new store in Bangkok, Zus says it plans to open 50 outlets in Thailand.
This rapid scaling of the company aligns with Zus’ ongoing expansion throughout Southeast Asia, where it operates in Singapore, Malaysia, the Philippines, and Brunei, while expansion into Indonesia is also reportedly on the cards.
It opened its 1000th total store in 2025.
Group Chief Operating Officer Venon Tian spoke at the launch of the new Bangkok location. He says expanding Zus into larger consumer markets is critical for growth.
“Opening in a diverse landscape such as Thailand is meaningful for us, a brand from a relatively smaller nation,” says Tian.
“We plan to open 50 stores here in 2026 to strengthen our market presence in one of Southeast Asia’s most mature coffee markets.”
Overall, Zus plans to expand its total reach to 1300 outlets by the end of 2026, including the addition of 200 new outlets in its home market of Malaysia.
In entering the Thai market, Zus Coffee is now in direct competition with local powerhouse Café Amazon, which holds almost 5000 locations, while Starbucks, All Café, and Punthai also among the most popular.
