Fast-casual restaurant and bakery-café company Panera Bread has announced Panera RISE, a transformation strategy designed to guide the company’s next growth phase.
It will invest in four strategic pillars, focusing on areas such as: refreshing its menu, delivering on high-quality food, front-of-house service, and expanding its network.
Panera Bread currently operates more than 2000 bakery-cafés across the United States and Canada, operating under the Panera Bread or Saint Louis Bread Co. names.
The strategy follows foundational work undertaken by Panera Bread in 2025 to “accelerate transformation and drive meaningful progress toward long-term growth”, the company says, with an aim to reach more than US$7 billion in system-wide sales by 2028.
CEO Paul Carbone says Panera Bread has made considerable progress in strengthening its foundation to better serve its guests.
“I’m incredibly confident that Panera RISE is the roadmap that will drive our long-term growth and value creation, and that together with our team members and our franchisees, we will reclaim our position as the industry leader in fast casual”, says Carbone.
